tile_13Question:

Do you know what flooring is traditionally used to make the black and white checkered look (renaiisance period)? I’m working on a project and I can’t find any info any where. I think it’s marble but I’m not sure.

Can you help?

Answer:

The product would have been marble. The white marble would have been Cararra or White Thassos and the black would have been China Black. You can see these products by clicking here.

If your budget doesn’t permit marble, you can also use ceramic tile that looks very similar or VCT (Vinyl Composition Tiles).
