If you have a vibrant flooring that contrasts with the rest of the room, such as dark wenge with white walls, it's even more of a concern to make sure everything is minimalistic. By overloading the room with so many 'stylistic' accessories, you'll just end up getting a headache!

De-cluttering certainly is a great aesthetic choice. I think for me, and for a lot of other people, de-cluttering a space seems to have another important effect - de-cluttering of the mind. I find it near impossible to focus on anything when the room I'm in is cluttered. It sounds kind of weird, maybe. But, I really think the less is more approach is the way to peace of mind, too, to a certain extent of course.

Thanks for the post!

So true! I think a home should be a peaceful environment so we can rest. Our home interior elements talk to our senses. Having a cluttered space is like participating in a conversation which everyone talks over each other. Not a great place to be. Thanks for the post!
