‘Skinny’ Is In

Skinny Carpet - floortalk.wfca.orgNone of us like to hear that “skinny is in”, but this time it’s not a judgmental proclamation. I am referring to carpet that is manufactured into skinny planks. In particular, Interface Mills’ extensive collections of skinny planks allow you to be your own designer. Create the geometry that pleases you because The Skinny Planks’ scale and directionality gives you an expanded range of design options.

25cm x 1m planks can be used in conjunction with Interface carpet tiles to create something totally individual. If you would like more information, or to see some of the pattern choices Interface offers, be sure to visit Interface.com and download their brochure. The gallery of installations they show is inspiring, and gives so much more design flexibility than working with just carpet tiles. There are even patterns that mimic hardwoods and luxury vinyl planks, so you get the look of wood, but the softness underfoot that carpet provides.

This picture is a great example of mixing and positioning planks with carpet tile. The mix of colors and textures adds some great dimension to the floor design, and I guarantee you are not likely to see this repeated anywhere else. Great for home or office—let your imagination be your guide.
